Recorder Groups

Chichester u3a offers a weekly recorder group : Tuesdays 2pm-4pm run by Jean Campbell.
It's a group for serious improvers who can offer at least two instruments. Members attend as regularly as possible (it isn’t a drop-in group) and we play a very wide range of music from early to modern, with lots of music by Steve & Ann Marshall, Marg Hall, Helen Hooker and others.

Once a month Sophie Middleditch comes along and then we play some challenging music that we might not otherwise take on.
We meet where I live on The Hornet : the 51 and 700 buses pass the door and there are two car parks 5-10 mins walk away (one of them free for 3 hours). We play in a large lounge at ground level, so no problem stairs!

The group is very friendly and supportive and will make you welcome. You need your own instruments and a music stand, of course. If you wanted to take on a third instrument, there would be support for this.

There is no charge, but you would need to join Chi u3a (£18 p.a. or £14 if you belong to another u3a). However, you can come along as a visitor for a taster session and then join.

The group currently numbers 9 but has been bigger in the past and can be again.

You’ll see Interest Groups along the top and clicking on that will bring up Groups by Day. Look for Tuesday and click on Recorder Ensemble for fuller information. If you’d like to come along, click on Contact Group Organiser on that page and send me a message from there.
